“BLOOD WILL HAVE BLOOD, THEY SAY”

OK.  So my first exposure to SLEEP NO MORE was last September when my brother from Phoenix came to visit.  He had heard about it on Live with Regis and Kelly  and thought it was something we would both be into (NPH is A-W-E-S-O-M-E).

If you are reading this, presumably you are already an Insomniac, or Sleepalo if you prefer, so I don’t need to tell YOU what happened the first time we walked through the dark maze into the Manderley. Not to mention, I was the last person on the elevator (therefore the first OFF), so you know what my first moments inside the hotel were like.

Since September my Bro has been out an additional 3 times, for a total of 7 trips to The McKittrick (we love the 2-in-1-night trips!)  Much to his chagrin, I passed him by scoring a last minute ticket to REMIX, and I am going again this Thursday and next Wednesday, which will bring my total to 10.  Bro is planning next trip in June and plans to go 5-6 times while he is here—  I will go at least 2-3 of those.

So I am obviously obsessed.  As you know, it can consume your thoughts, and I am convinced it can truly be considered an addiction  (see my post where I simply swap out “substance” for ”Sleep No More” in the official dependence criteria.  I meet 6 out of 7, and only skip one because I don’t WANT to stop.)  I think I hear the music everywhere, I see things and think how they look like they belong in the McKittrick, I smell familiar things and think of where inside the space I know it from.  I dream about spending the night in the Hotel, and I talk about the show incessantly to everyone who will listen, and some who don’t.

I created this blog to give myself an outlet for my obsession so I can at least SHOW SOMETHING for the hours I spend scouring the web for blog posts about other people’s anecdotes.  I am completely inspired and influenced by other fan-blogs that are out there.
